Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation provides an opportunity for homeowners and builders to add value to their property by focusing on both product performance and positive environmental impact. Architectural, design and engineering communities have utilized the many benefits and unique characteristics of sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) for nearly half a century. Polyurethane spray foam is known to resist heat transfer extremely well and is one of the best solutions for preventing unwanted air infiltration through openings or cracks. Yvon Insulation uses polyurethane spray foam in many insulation installations of attics, ceilings, walls, and floors.
Sprayed Polyurethane Foam has the highest R-Value per inch of thickness of any insulation product, enabling the customer to achieve the highest R-Value thermal resistance in many building specific situations.
With two types of spray foam:
- 1-component foam: This single-component foam is super-sticky and expands at different rates immediately after application. Since it seals gaps as well as insulates, this product is often referred to as an "insulating foam sealant.
- 2-component foam: To insulate an entire basement or attic with spray foam, contractors use 2-part polyurethane foam that comes in a pair of pressurized metal containers. When both components are mixed together at the nozzle, a foaming chemical reaction takes place that causes the material to expand.
